Bread & Butter Plates

Bread and butter plates are essential elements in a complete tableware. The bread saucer, usually about 16 cm in diameter, is placed to the left of the tableware, aligned with the glasses, and its shape can vary between circular, square or oval. Its purpose is to hold the bread during the meal, making it easier to access with the left hand. In addition, it is often accompanied by a portion of butter and a special spreadable knife, unsawed and round-tipped, which is placed with the handle facing right. These plates not only serve a practical function, but also contribute to the etiquette and presentation of an elegant table.
